AI & Computer Science Summer Career Camp in London for Ages 15-18

Course Description: AI & Computer Science Summer Career Camp in London for Ages 15-18

Overview

Unlock your future in technology with Study Mind’s Computer Science and Technology Summer Career Camp. Code, build and break things across web development, AI, cybersecurity and encryption in Central London. Each topic builds hands-on, from a working website to a playable game you can show people.

Your first week covers algorithmic thinking, a Python coding project, website development, data structures and algorithms, and an introduction to artificial intelligence, finishing with careers advice. Two-week students add computer architecture, Python and HTML fundamentals, encryption and codebreaking, cybersecurity, compression and image processing, and a full game development project.

Groups are kept small, with no more than 10 students, so mentors can work closely with each person. Each day pairs a morning session with an afternoon workshop or industry visit, and you’ll spend most of your time coding, building and testing rather than sitting through lectures.

Using beginner-friendly development tools, you’ll build a playable game from scratch, working through mechanics, sprites, physics and player input, then test and iterate on your build before finishing with a working game.

Coding, AI and web development are taught by Jacob B., a Computer Science graduate from the University of Leeds. Judith C., a UCAS adviser and English teacher, runs the Friday sessions on UCAS applications and personal statements.

By the end of the camp, you’ll be able to build and publish a website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, explain how supervised and unsupervised machine learning models are trained, encode and decode messages using symmetric and asymmetric encryption, identify common cyber threats and apply basic security defences, and write a personal statement ready for a computer science application.

The Study Mind Computer Science and Technology Summer Career Camp leaves you with a working website, a playable game, and AI and cybersecurity project work you can show in a UCAS application or portfolio.
