Les Diablerets, Swiss Alps
Languages: English or French (fully bilingual environment)
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Swiss Alps, the Club Rock Climbing Academy offers an immersive summer experience where vertical adventure, personal growth, and community come together. Based in the alpine village of Les Diablerets, this camp is designed for young climbers — from first-time boulderers to those already comfortable on rock — who want to develop confidence, climbing technique, outdoor skills, and lifelong friendships in a safe, supportive, and screen-free environment.
This is more than a traditional climbing course — it’s a holistic outdoor adventure that blends skill-building on real rock, adrenaline mountain activities, teamwork, and fun exploration in one of Europe’s most stunning natural settings.
***
Campers live fully offline during their stay — no phones, no Wi-Fi, no screens.
This intentional digital detox helps young people:
Engage fully with nature and others without digital distractions
Build confidence through hands-on learning and challenges
Practice independence and focused attention
Form deep friendships through shared experience
With screens out of the way, campers grow present, resilient, and connected.
***
Each day balances structured climbing progression, choice-based adventure activities, teamwork, and rest — adapting to weather and group energy.
***
Each morning, participants head to local crags and climbing areas to focus on technique, safety, and confidence:
Belay and rope-work fundamentals
Footwork, movement, and route reading
Safety awareness and risk assessment
Top-rope and lead climbing skills (age-appropriate)
Bouldering and problem solving on rock
Whether new to climbing or already familiar with the sport, campers progress at their pace while having fun on real rock formations.
***
In the afternoons, all campers come together for shared adventure choices. Each day offers a variety of options, encouraging exploration, creativity, and social fun. Activities can include:
Mountain hikes and ridge walks
Climbing-related games and challenges
MTB and trail biking
Water sports and lake games
Team sports and group challenges
Creative workshops and nature projects
These sessions keep the programme varied and exciting while fostering teamwork and new skills.
***
After dinner, campers join evening events designed to bring everyone together and build camp spirit:
Team games and friendly competitions
Themed nights and story sessions
Strategy activities and group workshops
Campfire chats and reflection time
Campers are encouraged to collaborate, lead, and enjoy fun social moments in supportive settings.
***
Each week includes memorable, standout experiences:
Climbing excursions to scenic alpine crags
Sunset sessions with panoramic mountain views
Overnight or bivouac-style adventures under the stars
Exploration hikes and nature discovery missions
These experiences become the highlights campers talk about long after the summer ends.
***
Rock Climbing Academy follows a “challenge by choice” approach:
Campers decide how far they want to push themselves
Activities are adapted to group ability and comfort
Progress is measured by personal growth, not competition
Coaches support learning while respecting individual limits
This philosophy ensures every participant feels safe, motivated, and proud of their achievements.
***
No specialist training is required — general fitness like walking, hiking, or cycling before camp is more than sufficient. This programme is about exploration, skill development, and fun, not performance pressure.
***
Most campers arrive with mixed experience levels — that’s expected and welcomed. Instructors:
Teach skills step-by-step
Build confidence from the ground up
Support advanced climbers to go further
Encourage learning through practice
By the end of camp, participants master rope skills, belaying, climbing technique, and outdoor problem-solving.
***
Campers come from across Switzerland and internationally, creating an inclusive, friendly group where:
Curiosity and courage are celebrated
Collaboration and encouragement are the norm
New friendships form and grow every day
Most arrive as strangers — and leave as teammates and friends.
***
The camp operates in a fully bilingual English & French environment, naturally supporting language confidence through team interaction and daily activities. No prior knowledge of both languages is required.
***
Comfortable accommodation at Chalet Budokan in Les Diablerets
Healthy, balanced meals with dietary needs accommodated
24/7 supervision by trained, experienced instructors
First-aid qualified staff and high safety standards throughout
Campers live, eat, and relax in a safe, supportive setting after action-packed days.
***
Organised transfers for international campers
Photo updates shared with families
Scheduled parent–child call during the week
Emergency contact available at all times
Families stay connected while campers enjoy a screen-free adventure.
***
Older teens (13–17) can join the Senior Multi-Adventure and Leadership programme, blending climbing with wider outdoor skills, soft-skill development, and leadership workshops.
***
The Rock Climbing Academy Summer Camp offers young people a rare chance to:
Develop climbing technique and outdoor confidence
Build resilience, teamwork, and independence
Enjoy mountain adventure beyond screens and distractions
Experience a supportive, bilingual community
Create unforgettable memories in the Swiss Alps
Every day blends exploration, skill building, and fun — the Club way.
