This course equips students with practical management skills for leading innovation and making strong decisions in uncertain environments. Across six sessions, students learn how to manage innovative projects, build high performance teams, and use data to make more objective, evidence led decisions. They also develop core experimentation skills by forming hypotheses, testing ideas systematically, and interpreting results to understand what works in real business contexts. The programme further explores digital transformation and AI in organisations, and the role of culture in shaping ethical, high risk investment decisions, giving students a well rounded toolkit for modern leadership and entrepreneurship.

Lectures:

Lecture 1: Managing Innovative Projects

This session explores how to structure and manage projects that involve uncertainty, creativity, and rapid learning. Students will learn practical tools for setting objectives, managing stakeholders, and adapting project plans as new information emerges. By the end, they will understand how to balance risk and innovation to deliver value in real-world management contexts.

Lecture 2: Creating High-Performance Teams

This session examines what makes some teams consistently perform better than others. Students will explore key factors such as psychological safety, clear roles, diversity of skills, and effective communication. To deliver a comprehensive and enriching experience in Cambridge, participants are accommodated in different colleges within the University of Cambridge. Full board dining is provided throughout the programme, with meals served in the college dining halls (apart from weekend trips).
