Program Overview

The Faculty of Law at Innovate Summer Academy offers a comprehensive introduction to legal studies, exploring areas such as criminal justice, human rights law, environmental law, and global policy. Students engage with these subjects through a mix of academic study, interactive debates, and mock trials.

Visits to legal institutions, guest lectures from practicing lawyers and academics, and real-world case studies give participants first-hand insight into how the law operates in society. By the end of the program, students will have developed critical thinking, analytical, and advocacy skills, providing a strong foundation for university-level study and future careers in the legal profession.

Students will stay in single ensuite rooms at UCL’s Bloomsbury campus, offering a safe and comfortable environment in the heart of London.

Sample Innovate Curriculum

Core Module 1: Introduction to Law and Legal Systems

This module provides an overview of legal systems worldwide, with a focus on common law, civil law, and international law. This module explores environmental law's role in addressing climate change, pollution, and conservation. Students learn about international environmental treaties, national policies, and the impact of legal decisions on environmental protection.

Visit Lincoln’s Inn, one of London’s four historic Inns of Court, and meet with a practicing barrister.
