This is the best year around on campus accommodation English Language camp near London. The program is so vibrant and themed based with wonderful excursions. Discover the English language through active, academic and creative activities in a beautifully historic school with extensive grounds. Featuring modern classrooms, spacious common areas, a dining room and modern residential accommodation, this centre is ideal for providing a safe and peaceful environment for your child.

Lessons:

On this course, students will:

  • 24 Hours Weekly Intensive
  • Gain confidence and become more independent learners and users of the English language
  • Develop their English language skills (reading writing, listening, and speaking)
  • Improve your vocabulary, pronunciation, and understanding of grammar
  • Essential 21st century life skills (communication, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and cultural awareness)
  • Produce a portfolio of work to demonstrate progress and achievements
  • Meet new friends from across the world

Week 1:

Magic and mystery

Explore magical stories and investigate some of Britain's most famous mysteries such as the famous Stonehenge or Lock Ness Monster. Students will build on their vocabulary for descriptive writing and develop their use of narrative tenses.

Week 2:

Gadgets and gizmos

Discover the origins of the technology we now take for granted and explore the impact its development will have on the future. Students will enhance their critical-thinking skills to speculate on future innovations and develop their coherent writing skills.

Week 3:

Let's celebrate!

Develop cross-cultural understanding by learning about different festivals from across the UK and around the world. Students will share knowledge and traditions of festivals in their own countries, practise their collaboration skills and improve their use of functional phrases for expressing ideas and opinions.

Students choose 2 electives per week. Sample electives include: Art and crafts  British literature Cricket Dance Dodgeball Drama Music Orienteering Rounders Volleyball Board games Football Handball Journalism Health and fitness Film and photography 

Study Tours Students take part in three full-day study tours every two weeks to UK destinations. They will also have the opportunity to add optional activities to enhance their experience, available on certain weeks only

  • Edinburgh (27 - 29 January) – experience Scottish culture at this famous historic capital, including a tour of Edinburgh castle, ghost walks and Scottish dancing
  • London – see the London Eye, Downing Street, Covent Garden, Science Museum or the Houses of Parliament
  • Cambridge – tour the city’s famous landmarks and university colleges, including the world famous King’s College
  • Windsor – explore the world’s largest and oldest occupied castle, which is also one of the official residences of Queen Elizabeth II

Bedrooms All bedrooms contain bunk beds and can accommodate between two and five students. Every room also has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and chair. Please note: towels and hair dryers are not provided.. Bathrooms Shared showers and toilet facilities are situated at convenient points throughout the accommodation. Housekeeping Bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned regularly. Fresh bed linen is provided every week. Meals Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the school and a packed lunch is provided on study tours). As well as a variety of global cuisines, students will experience traditional British meals such as roast dinners and fish and chips. Laundry Free laundry service for machine washable clothes once a week. Bell cannot take responsibility for any items lost or damaged during the laundry process. Pocket Money £100 per week (recommendation).. Electricity 220-240V, 50Hz AC. UK-type 3-pin plugs are used.. Curfew Lights are switched off between 22:30 and 23:00. Students are not allowed outside the school site without supervision.

Transfers Free transfers will be available for arrivals and departures between 10am and 6pm, depending on student travel requirements. Any students travelling as an Unaccompanied Minor are subject to an additional £50 fee (per single journey).
