This is the excellent hockey camp for teenagers from the Nike experts in the most beautiful boarding school campus in Uk

COACHING

Our team of experienced coaches including ex-international players are involved in all aspects of the camp and create a training environment that motivates and inspires players. Working on all aspects of the game in morning and afternoon coaching sessions, players will also benefit from two hours a week of workshops on topics such as match tactics and nutrition, delivered by coaches off the pitch. Where the opportunity arises players may also have the chance to play matches against local English teams and meet young British players.

Results

Players develop new skills and improve on existing techniques as well as learning what it’s like to be an elite athlete. Coaches share their own experiences about what it takes to raise your game to the highest level and equip players with a better understanding of the game and how to continue to progress at home. Each player receives an individual coaching review and a certificate to take home. Players join this programme from around the world creating a rich cultural experience and forging great friendships and memories.

ENGLISH (Hockey+English Option)

13-14 hours a week of classroom-based English. Our professional and dedicated English language teachers use a customised curriculum based on the CLIL approach used in top schools worldwide. With an average of 12 students per class, students get excellent individual feedback, including a written report and completion certificate to take home. Throughout the camp, English lessons are supported by a fully immersive language experience. All activities, training and workshops are delivered in English.

Radley College

Founded in 1847, Radley College is an historic British private school set in over 800 acres of self-contained grounds in the idyllic English countryside near Oxford. The breathtaking campus has a host of historic buildings and impressive modern sporting facilities. It’s an inspiring setting for learning and perfect for developing sporting talent.

Tennis campers have access to the school’s brand-new poraflex® acrylic courts. For hockey players, there are 2 hybrid astro pitches, while basketball players make use of the full-sized indoor basketball court.

Accommodation

Accommodation is in boarding houses around the main school buildings. At Radley, most bedrooms are single occupancy with shared bathrooms. Please note we cannot guarantee any particular bedroom. We allocate bedrooms based on sport, age, gender and room share requests.

Catering

3 meals a day and an evening snack, including vegetarian options. Most dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice.

EXCURSIONS

• Thorpe Park, Theme Park: With over 30 rides, there's something to suit everyone at one of England's top theme parks. Adrenaline junkies can ride rollercoasters that go from 0-80mph in under two seconds while to those who prefer to keep their feet near the ground can enjoy smaller rides and traditional fairground activities.

• **Oxford Tour: **Players experience the historic city of Oxford, home to the oldest university in the Englishspeaking world with magnificent architecture and academic history around every corner

• **London: **A chance to explore England's famous capital city and see some of the famous sights such as Buckingham Palace and The Houses of Parliament, followed by shopping in the afternoon.

Oxford Tour:

• Experience: Explore Oxford's historic university city with rich academic history and stunning architecture.

Theme Park:

• Activities: Over 30 rides for all preferences, from high-speed rollercoasters to gentle fairground attractions.

London Excursion (13-night campers):

• Exclusive for 13-night camp participants.

• Highlights: Visit iconic landmarks like Buckingham Palace and The Houses of Parliament, plus afternoon shopping in the capital.

• Airport Transfer Service: Available for children arriving/departing at Heathrow or Gatwick during specified times. Must be booked in advance.

• Parent Airport Drop-off/Collection: Specific times for drop-off and collection at Heathrow or Gatwick. Book this service if an adult is handling child's airport transfer.

• Arrival: For flights arriving 08:00 - 16:00 on Monday. Staff meet children in arrivals hall. Supervised transfer to camp venue, with potential short wait for other arrivals.

• Departure: For flights departing 11:00 - 18:00 on Sunday. Staff assist with airport check-in and coordinate with airline’s unaccompanied minor service if needed.

Players can choose from either Total Hockey or Hockey + English sessions.

Option 1: Total Hockey

• Up to 24 hours a week of hockey coaching and game play

• Up to 8 hours a week of sports-related workshops. Workshop topics:

• Nutrition: Importance of diet and hydration in sports performance.

• Diversity & Inclusion: Promoting equality and embracing diversity in sports.

• Elite Performance: Insights into achieving top-level athletic success.

• Yoga: Focused on injury prevention and enhancing flexibility.

• Wellness: Education on physical and mental health habits.

• Recovery Activities: Yoga and other exercises to manage daily training intensity.

• Suitable for all English language abilities except beginners

Option 2: Hockey + English

• Up to 24 hours a week of hockey coaching and game play

• Up to 13 hours a week of English Language lessons using an accelerated model of English learning

• 1:12 teacher to student ratio (average).

• Individual take-home report.

• Suitable for all English language abilities

• Sport-themed classes using CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) for engaging and interactive English learning.

• Activities include sports-based projects, discussions, and exercises like player interviews and match commentaries.

• Emphasis on improving verbal communication in English.

• English teachers live on-site, ensuring English is spoken throughout the camp.

• Based on age and ability, with an online assessment pre-camp and teacher evaluation on arrival for accurate placement.

• Players receive a written report and advice for continued learning at home.

• Pocket Money Advice: Regarding pocket money, while everything is covered in the camp, players can bring around £50 - £200 in cash or a UK-activated credit/debit card for optional snacks on-camp and souvenirs during trips. The cash will be kept in the camp bank, except for small amounts for on-site snacks. Bringing spending money is optional.

• Extra nights: £250 not available at any venue before the first camp start date or after the final camp end date.
