SBC's lively and varied General English course focuses on developing students' communication, teamwork, and creativity abilities, as well as their comprehension of English and confidence in applying it in everyday situations. The syllabus incorporates carefully chosen resources as well as Time to Shine materials created specifically for Summer Boarding Courses by our innovative and skilled academic team. Lessons are delivered in a student-centered, multicultural setting so that students can collaborate to improve their language skills.
The goal of General English is to improve both language knowledge and language abilities. Students will improve their vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, and writing skills throughout the course. Students are encouraged to activate their language knowledge and further strengthen their communication abilities by participating in exciting and stimulating exercises, projects, and activities. All of the classes are taught by teachers that have been carefully selected. The British Council has identified SBC's 'Teaching' and 'Course 'Design' as areas of strength.
Students will participate in a series of creative and difficult projects each week as part of General English's Time to Shine to apply language learning and acquire a variety of 21st century skills. Students can give presentations based on their own research and compete in exciting and collaborative class competitions as part of each project.
This type of project-based learning allows students to practice their English language skills while also improving their critical thinking, research, and presentation abilities.
The importance of feedback in any learning process cannot be overstated. Students will receive regular feedback from their lecturers during class to help them grow. All students will receive a personal report written by their teacher, as well as a course certificate, at the completion of the course. This is a terrific resource to share with your child's year-round school to help them develop further.
