Royale Pre College Engineering, Robotics and Technology summer school at Cambridge University is a two-week-academic-program for teens -16-18 year old- who are willing to design tomorrow.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to stay, eat, and study on the grounds of one of the world's oldest institutions, Cambridge Summer School. Discover the city that has influenced so many brilliant brains, including Charles Darwin and Stephen Hawking.  Climb the Great St Mary's Church tower at the Cambridge University for panoramic views of the city. Discover the 17th-century author John Milton's favorite gardens and the 1871 Gothic-revival All Saints Church.  All of this history and culture will be ideal to share with your new acquaintances from all around the world.

Course Description

In a truly international environment – over 170 nationalities, 20+ hours a week with maximum of 15 students per class, you will have opportunities to talk and debate with world-class guest speakers about Engineering, Robotics and Technology. 

In this program you will

  • Compare multiple fields of engineering and find your potential career pathway.
  • Gain insight into emerging technology, advanced robotics, and the grand challenges of engineering.
  • Learn and apply engineering principles to design challenges.
  • Enhance your problem solving and critical thinking skills through the Capstone Project.
  • Strengthen your capacity and skills for project leadership


Most of Cambridge’s accommodation sites offer a mix of single and twin bedrooms, with some campuses having en-suite bedrooms available and others have shared bathroom facilities between a small group of same-sex students.  If you have a particular preference for a certain room type, you can make a request on booking, which may be granted subject to availability. If a particular room type is required for medical reasons, please contact our Admissions Team who will be able to check availability on different sites, depending on the course chosen. Sharing your room with fellow students is a great way of getting to know people and making friends. Meals are also included, served in the Hall.

Getting to Cambridge University

Transportation By Flight The following is a list of the most convenient airports for Cambridge. To choose a flight that meets your needs, we recommend looking online.

  • Gatwick (4 hours away)

By Train - Eurostar The Eurostar is a rail service that connects France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands to the United Kingdom. The Eurostar arrives at London's central St. Pancras International station.

Oxford Royale Academy Airport Transfer Service A member of the Oxford Royale Academy staff will meet students with an Airport Transfer booking in the arrivals hall and ensure that they are connected with their taxi driver. The student will be driven directly to their lodging by the driver. When it's time to leave the program, students are picked up from their lodging and driven to the appropriate airport terminal. If the student is traveling as an unaccompanied minor, please notify the camp when booking your Airport Transfer and the camp will provide you with any further information you require.

Public Transport The information is valid at the time of writing, but you should always check with the public transportation operator for the most up-to-date service availability. You are also urged to reserve any public transportation in advance to verify that your preferred route is available.
