Step into real courtrooms and see what life as a solicitor or barrister is really like on this Law Summer Career Camp in central London for students aged 15 to 18. This is not just about learning the theory: you walk into working courts, meet practising lawyers and discover what a legal career truly involves.
You are introduced to the English legal system by an experienced corporate lawyer, visit a barristers' chambers and a solicitors' firm, take part in a workshop inside the Royal Courts of Justice and argue your own case in a moot and mock trial. Along the way you build confidence in public speaking, reasoning and argument.
No previous experience is needed. The programme suits curious beginners as well as students already studying related subjects at school.
The camp takes place in central London, with sessions and visits across the city. Residential students stay at Ramsay Hall, part of the University College London (UCL) campus, and experience life as a university student in one of the world's great capitals.
Choose a 1, 2 or 3 week programme. Teaching is delivered through practical workshops, industry visits and sessions led by working professionals.

There are no more than 12 students in each programme group, so every student gets small group teaching, one-to-one mentoring and personalised feedback.
Sessions are led by practising legal professionals. Lawrence Power is Head of Chambers at Whitestone and a senior barrister, called to the Bar in 1995, with a Commercial and Chancery practice. Keon Stewart is a corporate lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions, early-stage fundraising and venture capital. Dr Jastine Barrett is a human rights consultant, international lawyer and academic with a PhD in Law from the University of Cambridge. Judith C., an accredited UCAS adviser and former Head of English, Head of Creative Arts and Head of Sixth Form in Kent grammar schools, runs the UCAS and personal statement sessions.
