Spend spring in Biarritz improving your French and surfing the Atlantic. This program blends CEFR-aligned French lessons with certified surf coaching, two weekly cultural activities, and a warm host-family half-board stay — all in the city center, just a stroll from iconic beaches on the Basque Coast.
Ages: 15–17
Language level: A2 to C1 (students learn in level-appropriate groups)
Focus: everyday communication through speaking, listening, and role-play
Teaching: FLE-qualified and experienced instructors
Location: classrooms in central Biarritz (6 Av. Jaulerry, 64200)
Outcomes: boost confidence and fluency in real situations; attendance certificate showing level reached
Coaches: certified surf instructors on Biarritz’s renowned beaches
All levels welcome: structured support for beginners; progression and technique refinement for intermediate/advanced surfers
What you’ll cover: paddling, take-off timing, stance/balance, reading waves, safe entry/exit, and ocean awareness
Scheduling: sessions planned around tides and conditions (your academic and activity timetable adapts accordingly)
Each week:
2 cultural/social activities — e.g., Basque pelota initiation or a visit to the Cité de l’Océan
1 half-day excursion + 1 full-day excursion — discover Bayonne, coastal viewpoints, and local heritage (examples vary by week)
Activities are designed to keep you using French outside class while enjoying Biarritz’s culture and coastline
Immersion at home: practise French in daily life with your hosts
Meals: breakfast & dinner with the family; packed lunch provided for daytime activities
Rooming: shared room (2–3 students), ideal for making friends and practising French informally
Mon–Fri (daytime):
French lessons (15 hours/week total) in small, interactive groups
Surf sessions (4×/week) scheduled around tides
Afternoons/early evenings: cultural/social activities on two days; free time or study on others
One half-day excursion mid-week; one full-day excursion at the weekend
One evening activity per week (e.g., relaxed beach picnic)
Exact day-by-day timing may shift to match surf conditions and excursion availability.
