Step into the world of psychology this summer. Over two weeks, you'll explore multiple psychology specialisms, understand human behaviour and mental health, and experience real psychological practice across different settings. This isn't theory-based learning—it's practical, hands-on psychology where you learn assessment techniques, understand case studies, and confirm what psychology really involves.
The camp balances structured lectures on psychology fundamentals with intensive practical workshops in clinical assessment, intervention approaches, and case analysis across multiple specialisms. You'll spend full days visiting real psychology workplaces including the Freud Museum and the Royal Courts of Justice, gaining rare exposure to professional psychological practice. By the end of two weeks, you'll have developed psychological understanding, explored multiple career pathways, and confirmed whether psychology is your path.
Cultural exploration includes guided tours of London's highlights and a day trip to Cambridge to experience university life firsthand.
Outcomes: Certificate of completion, detailed tutor report highlighting your psychological knowledge and analytical skills, and a recommendation letter from the camp director for university applications.
Student Feedback: 100% of participants found tutors knowledgeable and classes engaging; 100% would recommend the camp to others.
The camp takes place at Imperial College London in South Kensington—located in the heart of London's academic and professional psychology community.
Your Base:
Undergraduate accommodation at Prince's Gardens, Watts Way, South Kensington, London, SW7 1BA
Modern student halls with ensuite rooms
Walking distance from all teaching facilities
20 miles from London Heathrow Airport with excellent transport links

Why This Location Matters: You won't just study psychology—you'll live and work in the heart of professional psychology practice. You'll experience what it feels like to be a psychology student, attending lectures at a prestigious institution, visiting real psychology workplaces, and exploring a vibrant professional community in one of the world's leading psychology centres.
This is a work experience simulation camp, not a classroom course. You'll work alongside professional psychologists and academics in a blend of lectures, practical workshops, case studies, and real psychology observation that gives you genuine insight into psychology careers and psychology practice.

This camp carries no UCAS points. And that's exactly why it's valuable for top university applications.
Russell Group universities—Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE—don't base offers on total UCAS point counts. They prioritise specific A-Level grades in subjects relevant to your course. Small UCAS point qualifications (8-16 points) are "generally not significant for top-tier university admissions," according to official UCAS guidance.
What top universities actually value:
Depth of psychological knowledge – Engagement with complex psychology concepts and real cases
Genuine passion – Evidence you've explored psychology beyond the classroom
Practical experience – Understanding what psychology practice actually involves
Concrete examples for your personal statement and interviews
Confirmed commitment – Clarity that this is the right path for you
Psychological thinking – Demonstrating analytical and reflective capability
Rather than chasing generic UCAS points, this camp gives you:
Two weeks of immersive practical experience working with academics and practising psychologists
Authentic psychological knowledge (across health, educational, forensic, sport, and clinical psychology)
Real psychology environments – visiting the Freud Museum, Royal Courts of Justice, and psychology practice settings
Tangible achievements to discuss in interviews: "I analysed a case study that," "I observed forensic psychology at," "I understood the role of," "I explored multiple psychology specialisms"
Clarity and confidence that psychology is genuinely your calling
Professional networks with psychologists and psychology professionals you can reference in applications
Top universities look for students who are truly passionate about their subject and have explored it deeply. This camp demonstrates that commitment far more effectively than extra UCAS points ever could.
As official UCAS guidance states:
"Choosing a course that is intellectually challenging and relevant to your ambitions will have a much greater impact than one that simply adds a few extra UCAS points. Top universities look for students who are truly passionate about their subject. Exploring it beyond the classroom will not only strengthen your application but also help you confirm that it's the right path for you."
This camp does exactly that.

For Serious Psychology Applicants
If you're applying to psychology at top universities, you need more than grades. You need to demonstrate commitment, practical psychological knowledge, and clarity that psychology is your calling. This two-week intensive does that.
For Students Considering Psychology But Not Certain
Worried you might not actually like psychology once you're doing it? This camp helps you find out. Many students confirm their passion for psychology—others discover they prefer a different specialism—and others find that psychology isn't their path. All outcomes are valuable. Better to know now than after a 3-year psychology degree.
For Students Who Want to Stand Out in Interviews
Psychology universities interview hundreds of students with A* grades. What differentiates you? Concrete psychology experience. Being able to say "I explored multiple psychology specialisms," "I analysed real case studies," "I observed psychology in practice," "I understood the role of" immediately sets you apart.
For Students Who Want Real Professional Insight
You'll learn from practising psychologists who are actually working in clinical practice, educational services, forensic settings, and sport psychology—not from teachers reciting textbooks. You'll understand the reality of psychology work—both the rewarding and challenging aspects.
For Students Looking for Authentic University Experience
Living in Imperial College halls, attending lectures at a prestigious institution, visiting psychology practice settings, exploring London—this gives you a genuine first taste of university life and psychology practice before you apply.
The Future Psychologist camp is transformative. You'll arrive as an ambitious student with good grades wondering if psychology is genuinely for you. You'll leave with:
Confirmed passion for psychology (or clarity that a different path is right)
Tangible psychological knowledge and practical experience
Concrete stories to tell in university interviews
A detailed letter from a psychologist/academic supporting your application
Friendships with fellow ambitious psychology students from around the world
Confidence in your next steps
Two weeks. Multiple psychology specialisms. Real case analysis. Observing psychology in practice. Understanding human behaviour. Exploring psychological interventions. Visiting the Freud Museum and Royal Courts. This isn't a summer holiday or a generic enrichment camp. It's the closest you'll get to psychology education before actually starting a psychology degree.
By the end of this camp, you won't just be thinking about psychology—you'll understand what psychologists actually do.
