This Teen Spanish Summer Camp in Costa Rica is a deeply immersive educational experience that blends daily Spanish classes, homestay living, cultural exchange, service learning, and adventure travel. Designed for teens seeking real-world language use and personal growth, the programme offers an authentic “home away from home” while discovering Costa Rica’s extraordinary diversity—from colonial towns and rainforests to tropical beaches.
Founded in 1993, the owner-run language school behind this programme has welcomed teen groups since 2003. The camp is education-first (not a travel agency), keeping prices accessible while maintaining high academic, safety, and supervision standards.
Key assurances for families:
Maximum 24 students (minimum 12)
1:8 student–chaperone ratio
Small Spanish classes (max 6 students, average 4)
Fully insured programme
Multilingual, credentialed teachers and trip leaders
Two need- and merit-based partial scholarships available per camp

Students begin in Heredia, a traditional university city near San José, where they live with carefully selected local host families just a short walk from school. This week focuses on cultural immersion, daily routines in Spanish, and community connection.
The second week moves to Sámara Beach, where students stay at a comfortable hotel near the school and beach. Classes continue alongside ocean-based activities, offering a relaxed yet enriching environment to practise Spanish in real life.
Across both weeks, students also explore Costa Rica’s varied landscapes, including rainforests, volcanoes, indigenous communities, lakes, waterfalls, and national parks.

From the moment families enrol, communication and support are prioritised:

Group parent chat before and during the programme
Daily photo updates on a private platform during camp
On campus, students enjoy social spaces, study rooms, shared kitchens, gardens, hammocks, and outdoor areas—perfect for building friendships and independence in a safe setting.
