Held on a prestigious boarding campus in Canterbury, a city with over a thousand years of history, students train and perform in an atmosphere rich with heritage, architecture, and artistic tradition. From ancient cathedral grounds to charming cobbled streets, Canterbury provides a magical backdrop for a transformative musical summer.

The Global Youth Orchestra is a two-week advanced programme focused on orchestral performance, ensemble mastery, and musical refinement. Designed for students aged 12+ at Grade 8 level or higher, the course welcomes skilled young musicians aiming to elevate their technique and experience professional-standard orchestral performance.
Daily training includes:
Full-orchestra rehearsals
Sectional coaching led by professional musicians
Technique development & musical interpretation
Ensemble communication & leadership skills
Challenging repertoire chosen to stretch and inspire
The programme concludes with a public concert performance, allowing students to showcase their musical development. 🎵

At the end of the programme, students perform in a public concert held in Canterbury in a beautiful, historic venue known for its acoustics and atmosphere. The performance is also broadcast live online, allowing families worldwide to share in the moment. 🌐🎶

Admission includes a two-step audition:
Video performance submission
Second-round audition featuring:
A prescribed orchestral excerpt
A quick-study piece
Minimum requirement: Grade 8 level or equivalent, ensuring participants can perform advanced orchestral repertoire confidently.

Students stay in comfortable, well-supervised residential houses on the Canterbury campus.

To ensure every student arrives safely and comfortably to Canterbury:
Students arriving at the airport are met by programme staff and escorted to Canterbury, or private transportation is arranged by the dedicated transport department.
Escorted transfers from London Gatwick (LGW) and London Heathrow (LHR) between 09:00–17:00 on official arrival/departure days are included in the programme fee.
Transfers from other airports, outside scheduled times, or on different dates can be arranged at an additional cost.
