New Haven, Connecticut

Yale University

Summer Springboard program for high school students on the campus of Yale University

Campus Overview

  • Venture into New York City for a day to explore the must-see sights: Central Park, Top of the Rock, Grand Central Station, and Fifth Avenue for shopping.
  • Have fun at Six Flags New England with over 100 rides, shows, and attractions.
  • Explore the Yale campus with access to two art museums, gymnasiums, libraries, and beautiful lawns to relax.

Accommodation

Just like a college student at Yale, students share a dorm room with roommates and use a common bathroom. Floors are gender-segregated and rooms contain an extra-long twin size bed, desks, drawers, and a closet. Due to the historic nature of the campus, residential colleges are not air-conditioned. Even though you’re away from home, your Resident Advisor (RA) lives just down the hall and is there for anything you might need, and to ensure your safety and security. In addition, RAs create a community, provide support, plan activities and help you get the most out of your stay at Yale. Other members of the Summer Springboard staff also live on campus and are available to support students and tackle emergencies, 24 hours a day.

Security

During your Summer Springboard program at Yale, you will live in a residential college on campus. All residential colleges have 24-hour security and use electronic key cards to enter gates and entryways. Yale Police and Security is available 24 hours a day and actively monitor the campus.

Facilities

Yale is organized into 12 separate residential colleges around an internal courtyard with multiple entryways. The entryway defines local “neighborhoods” within each college, offering students a sense of security and community. Our high school summer program at Yale has its own dedicated entryway. There is wireless internet throughout campus and coin operated laundry facilities are within the dorms.

Dining

Meals will be eaten at the dining hall, walking distance from the dormitory where we live. Students may also take a short walk to dozens of restaurants and dining options in the New Haven neighborhood.
