Learn the fundamentals of flight mechanics, deep dive the differences between aeronautical and astronautical engineering and engage with professionals in the field.
Los Angeles offers some of the best weather in Southern California year-round and is home to some of the most iconic landmarks, museums, leading industries, and notable universities.
For the second year in a row, UCLA has been ranked #1 among top public universities in the U.S. and 20th overall in national university standing, according to U.S. News & World Report. Its premiere location and elite academic status complement the Summer Springboard experience well to create one of the best educational opportunities for college-bound teens.
This camp at UCLA is the perfect gateway to Aerospace Engineering for 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 years olds.

Book NowWe'll step off-campus to explore what the lively city of Los Angeles has to offer! Home to some of the most iconic landmarks, tourist attractions, museums, and beaches, L.A. has no shortage of fun. Below are just some examples of what our students will get to see and explore:
At UCLA, students share a traditional dorm room with another person - in some cases two people, although not common. Students are housed by gender, and genders are separated by floor. Each floor shares a communal bathroom, but there are private shower and toilet stalls in the bathrooms. Dorm rooms contain a Twin XL sized bed, desks, drawers, mirror, and a closet. Basic linens are provided in the form of a fitted sheet, flat sheet, towel, and pillowcase.
Summer Springboard staff, in the form of Resident Advisors (RAs), live on each floor to create a community, provide support, plan activities, and help students get the most out of their stay at UCLA. Other members of the Summer Springboard staff also live on campus and are available to support students and address emergencies, 24 hours a day.
Meals
Most meals will be in the on-campus dining hall. The dining hall offers a wide selection of food, accommodating a variety of diets - including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, and specific food allergies. In the past, we've eaten in the De Neve dining hall, and you can reference their daily menu here to get a sense of what to expect.
Pocket Money
You may want to think about bringing some extra cash with you to Summer Springboard. We will be touring the local area and eating a few meals (maybe lunch, dinner on the weekends out). While you tuition covers the cost of the excursion, it will not cover any souvenirs you may want to pick up for family and friends. We suggest an extra $100.

With companies like Boeing, SpaceX, Relativity Space, The Aerospace Corporation, Northrop Grumman, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory – to name a few – located nearby, there’s no better place to launch into the field of Aerospace Engineering than with Summer Springboard in Los Angeles this summer. Ever wonder how a rocket works or how an aircraft stays airborne? What is actually needed to launch a person or satellite into space? Our Aerospace Engineering program on the campus of UCLA offers students the chance to understand the physics and dynamics of air and spacecraft using basic orbital mechanics. Students will participate in hands-on design challenges, ultimately building and launching their own glider or rocket. Previous foundational knowledge in the following classes is either recommended (R) or strongly recommended (SR), but not required: algebra (R), geometry (R), trigonometry (SR), calculus (SR), and physics 1 and 2 (SR).
Wonderful! Good News! You are not going to pay the full fee today, just a small deposit. After paying today, you will first get an enrollment form, and then receive a booking confirmation.
