Designed for students fascinated by the meeting point of medicine and engineering, this immersive Biomedical Engineering program takes place in Milan, one of Italy’s key centres for healthcare, life sciences, and biomedical innovation.
Students discover how medical technology is designed, prototyped, and tested, while exploring biomedical engineering through lectures, laboratory activities, and project-based learning.
The program covers the foundations of biomedical engineering, including medical devices, biomechanics, biotechnology, diagnostics, prototyping, and testing. Students also explore how the human body is modelled through biomechanics and how biotechnology and diagnostics are transforming modern medicine.
Through hands-on laboratory work, participants prototype and test medical technology before bringing their learning together in a capstone project developed with a partner biomedical engineering company.
✔️ Medicine Meets Engineering – Explore how engineering principles are applied to healthcare and medical technology.
✔️ Hands-On Learning – Combine lectures with laboratory activities, prototyping, testing, and project-based learning.
✔️ Medical Device Project – Apply your knowledge through a practical medical device project.
✔️ Industry Exposure – Visit a biomedical company and complete a capstone project developed with a partner biomedical engineering company.
✔️ Study in Milan – Experience the program in the heart of Italy’s healthcare and life-sciences ecosystem, home to hospitals, research universities, medtech companies, and biotech companies.
