King’s College is a world-famous prestigious university in the heart of London. It is consistently ranked among the top Universities in both the UK and the world. Classrooms take place in the Virginia Woolf building, whilst meals and activities take place in the main building on the Strand, next to Somerset House.
Positioned right in the city centre in state-of-the-art premises of the Strand Campus, is less than a mile from famous landmarks such as Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
Accommodation is based in a private residence close to King’s College. All students are given a free travel-card for each week of their stay, and students will never travel between the accommodation and campus without supervision from a Bucksmore member of staff.
The social programme is an important part of any summer school experience and is great way for students to socialise and practise their English with each other. Organised by a dedicated Activity Manager, each week students will have two full days excursions to destinations across the UK, plus an on-site activity programme.
Every Bucksmore location has a residential management team, and a minimum staff-student ratio of 1:7. There is always a trained first aider on-site, and students are supervised 24 hours a day.
Bucksmore offers a complimentary airport transfer service on transfer days for flights arriving/departing between 10:00 and 20:00. We can also provide an Unaccompanied Minor service for pick-up and drop-off. Students are looked after from when they land to when their flight departs.
Each location has a Centre Manager, Activity Manager and Director of Studies available for all students to approach with any problems. Bucksmore Counsellors are more than just teachers; they provide a high level of care and guidance for all students. All staff are background checked.
High staff to student ratios ensure all students are looked after. Bucksmore summer schools strive to create a warm and welcoming “family atmosphere” where all students and Counsellors know each other well.
