Prestigious Pre-College Medical Summer Program for Teens in Oxford includes the following:
-Gain experience of UK pre-university education and information on university options.

-Learn what being a doctor actually involves as well as the skills and personal attributes which are required
-The program content includes exploring natural sciences within the context of medical-related degrees and professions, development of critical thinking, presentation and debating skills through discussion of current social and ethical issues in medicine, medical-related visits and guest lectures, including a session with a medical school admissions tutor and a visit to a university Medical School, research in to the application process and requirements for degrees in a range of medical fields, medical interview preparation and practice, understanding the differences between Panel and Multiple Mini Interviews, what should and should not be included in a personal statement, and preparation for aptitude tests, UCAT and BMAT
-Accommodation is provided in single ensuite rooms in the Wavy gate Residence, with on-site kitchen and laundry facilities, plus a full time live

King Oxford Medical Summer Academy Program offers one full-day excursion per week, plus a half-day educational visit. There is also a full social program of organized evening activities. Participants of the program could benefit various clubs and society in campus such as Photography society , Chemistry Club, Chess Club, Maths Club, Book Club, Football and Basketball Club, History Film Club, Debating Club.
Wavy gate Residence with single ensuite rooms is available for those who are 16 year-old or older. There are on-site kitchen and laundry facilities, plus a full time live-in warden. The residence is located in the vibrant student area of Cowley and is 15 minutes’ walk from St. Josephs Campus, and 25 minutes’ walk from St. Michaels Campus and the city centre.As one of the most popular areas for students in the city, there is a huge range of amenities including shops, cinema, music and entertainment venues and restaurants serving food from every corner of the world.
Meals
Academic course students: either self-catering or half-board. Half-board is Monday to Friday and includes breakfast and lunch (10 meals per week) but not evening meals. Meals are provided in the restaurant at the St Josephs campus.
Pocket Money
We recommend students bring an amount of £50 per week pocket money for treats and gifts. This is a suggested amount, every student is different.

Students will be met at the airport by the college guide or the college representative.Students should look for a sign which says** Young Learners**.
Please note that the college guide or the college representative may not be at the arrivals area until 45 minutes after the flight arrival time.
If a student cannot find the college guide or the college representative, the student should go to the Airport Information Desk and show the staff a copy of their Transfer Confirmation Letter. In this situation, it is important not to panic and remain within the terminal building. Airports are big and busy, but the college has been collecting students for many years. We will look after them!

For those students who have booked the Heathrow Shuttle services, the college will organise transport at the below set arrival/departure times to/from Heathrow. Students will be supervised by the college staff should they have to wait for the next shuttle service. If a student is arriving to or departing from the campus with a parent/guardian, we do require information on their arrival time and/or pick up time from campus in advance.
The school will provide you with a document to complete prior to your arrival date. Students are not permitted to travel on their own to or from the campus.
**Please note for arrivals the drop off time to centre is between 3pm – 6pm. **
Please note for departures the pick up time from centre is between 9am – 11am.
Medical Summer Program is 2-week-program with 24 hour courses per week. You will learn what being a doctor actually involves as well as the skills and personal attributes which are required.

You will be guided to explore and understand the routes to medical school; the differences in teaching approaches; what the universities are looking for in your applications (both formal qualifications and individual factors); and approaches you might take to demonstrate that you have what it takes to succeed in this demanding profession.
Beware, this program has an entry requirements as IELTS 5.0 (or equivalent).
