Summer school has always been highly recommended as the perfect ‘catch-up’ or ‘level-up’ for every student. But post-pandemic, the case for summer school is even more compelling. Whether your child has been at online school for months or they’re planning to go back to in-person classes, every child stands to gain academically, socially and more.
Le Rosey Summer School at the Lake Geneva Campus is the perfect place for your 8-15 year old. Located in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, the camp offers revision courses in the morning, a choice of sport, tech and creative activities in the afternoon and evenings full of cultural and social pursuits. Every weekend, your child will be taken on excursions to get to know the culture and environment in this, one of the world’s most celebrated societies.
The camp is the finest bridge back to school. The focused academic environment is enhanced in efficiency by smaller classes and fewer learning hours. Shorter study durations mean teachers can set precise goals and students will find it easier to meet these. Intense, strategic immersion in a subject plus more attention from your tutor is guaranteed to improve grades. At the camp, your child will also find interacting with their peers to be highly rewarding.
But summer camps aren’t just about academics. Teachers employ the luxury of time to help students discover their potential. The camp is designed with an emphasis on skill and language development. How is this done? Via stimulating curiosity, celebrating creativity and building self-reliance.
Research shows that all students benefit greatly from summer school. Not only are the camps personally rewarding, they also improve the child’s chance of successfully enrolling in a highly rated university, after taking an international summer school course.
Le Rosey Summer School at the Lake Geneva Campus will change the course of your child’s future.
Le Rosey Summer School at the Lake Geneva Campus is structured to make the most of your child’s time here, balancing intellectual pursuits with creative work, cultural explorations and time to socialise and make friends for life.
In academics, there are 4 daily periods of 50 minutes each, where you choose the subjects and personalise the camp. Devote all four periods to English or combine these with French, Spanish or Maths. If you choose French, you may combine this with English or Maths or choose an intensive, all French syllabus. Combine Spanish classes with English or Maths. Naturally, Maths classes can be combined with English, French or Spanish.
Children aged 13 and up can also choose The Leadership Programme: hands on workshops in public-speaking, non-verbal communication, dance, singing, research, critical thinking, time management, self defence and more. The programme includes outdoor challenges and nature expeditions.
The Tech Programme: guided by Le Rosey’s tech wizards, your child will work through coding, robotics and 3D design to create a project that will be showcased at the end of the camp.
The afternoon’s activities are a mix of sport, tech and creative pursuits and children must choose 5 from the options below: acting and filming, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Cooking, Creative arts, Digital photography, Football, Hip-hop, Indoor climbing, Nautical sports (Sailing, Stand-up-paddling), Robotics, Swimming, Tennis, Wake-boarding and wake-surfing, Water-skiing, Yoga. Regardless of your level, you can choose to take part in a full-day horse-riding excursion, leaving campus after breakfast and returning just before dinner.
Every evening at the camp is unique. The programme includes inter-team competitions, discos, BBQs, lake cruises, entertainment by buildings or a Swiss-themed dinner. Saturdays at Le Rosey Summer School at the Lake Geneva Campus start with just two periods of lessons followed by a trip to a neighbouring Swiss city. Sundays begin with brunch and then off your child goes to an all-day excursion! They will try their hands at canyoning, climbing, visit a chocolate factory and enjoy free time on campus.
