Overall, the camp went well. The facilities are excellent, and my children were very happy with the camp staff and counselors. Whenever any questions or issues arose regarding the children during their stay, the counselors responded quickly, effectively, and kindly. However, I would like to mention a few points we were somewhat dissatisfied with: - Leo Palmer and Pep Campins shared a room with some children of Chinese origin. They complained about a lack of hygiene in their room—bad odors, disorder, overflowing bins with food, etc. It would be important for the center to monitor the cleanliness of the rooms for the well-being of all the children. Living in these conditions for two weeks was unpleasant, and they complained about it frequently. - Mia Palmer, Claudia Serra, and Cristina Campins were placed in an English class with children who had absolutely no knowledge of English. While my children may not have an advanced level, they can manage and have more than enough knowledge to be in a higher-level class. This situation prevented them from interacting with the other children in the class, as, according to them, the others didn’t speak a word of English, and they were unable to benefit from those classes. - The camp activities are fine, but from what my children told me, they could choose whether or not to participate. As parents, we believe that activities should be mandatory unless there are exceptional circumstances, rather than letting the children decide. These are activities that should be done, not optional, and children shouldn’t be allowed to just go back to their rooms. - Regarding cell phone use, at other camps, they were allowed to use their phones for a short time to contact their families, and then the phones were collected. We would have preferred this approach, as our children kept calling and sending us TikTok videos when they should have been focused on activities or socializing with other children on campus. I wanted to share these points constructively for future occasions with other children.
