Course Description: Georgetown University - English Camp for Higher Education in Washington DC

The Georgetown Campus Summer Program offers a comprehensive and immersive academic experience, designed to help students improve their language proficiency, critical thinking skills, and cultural awareness. The program features one to six-week English language courses or specialized two-week courses in Business or Academic English. In addition to coursework, students engage in daily afternoon activities, weekly full-day excursions, and enjoy comfortable room and board accommodations.

English Courses

Classes held at Georgetown University in a stimulating academic environment.

Small class sizes, averaging 14 students per class, ensuring personalized instruction.

20 lessons per week, taught by experienced educators.

Specialized Course: English for Higher Education (2-week course, B1+ English level required)

This course is designed to prepare university-bound students with essential academic language skills.

Course Structure:

1️⃣ Text Structure – Learn how to organize essays and academic papers effectively.

2️⃣ Ethics Behind Their Own Work – Understand plagiarism, citations, and responsible research practices.

3️⃣ Technology Applied to Public Speaking – Enhance presentation skills using modern tools and techniques.

Each section concludes with an essay or presentation.

Activities & Excursions

New York City trip for students attending during the second week of July.

One full-day excursion per week, plus optional Sunday activities.

4 to 5 half-day off-campus activities per week to explore Washington, D.C.

Sample excursions include:

  • New York City exploration

  • Thursday: Morning: Classes | Afternoon: Monument Night Tour | Evening: Movie Night

  • Friday: Morning: Classes | Afternoon: On-campus Activity (Sports & Recreation) | Evening: Dinner Out in Georgetown

  • Saturday: Full-day Excursion to New York City | Evening: Talent Show

Airport Transfers:

  • Dulles International Airport – $200 each way.

  • Reagan National Airport – $200 each way.
