The Nike Volleyball Camp at Winchester College is a residential summer camp for girls aged 13–17, aimed at developing and advanced players. With up to 24 hours of volleyball coaching and matches each week, the camp combines high-quality technical training with competitive play, an international community and a full programme of excursions and evening activities.
Players are assessed on arrival and grouped by age and ability, and each player receives an individual coaching review, a certificate and a report to take home.
Players train twice a day in small groups led by high-performance coaches, with individual feedback throughout. Sessions cover serving, setting, spiking, blocking, digging and receiving, as well as positioning, movement and reading the game. Each week includes competitive matches on tournament day and a weekly awards ceremony.
The programme is led by Volleyball Director Phoebe Bell, an Australian professional with more than ten years at elite level, including an NCAA Division I dual indoor and beach volleyball scholarship, competition on the Beach Pro Tour and selection for the Australian national team.
Every player receives the same amount of volleyball coaching; the difference lies in how the afternoons are spent:
Total Volleyball: up to 8 hours a week of volleyball workshops on topics such as nutrition, teamwork, goal-setting, communication and match analysis, giving an insight into the lifestyle and mindset of a professional.
Volleyball + English: up to 13 hours a week of English lessons taught by qualified teachers using the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method, with volleyball-themed projects and discussions. Ideal for international players who want to build their confidence in English.
Each day follows a simple, active rhythm: breakfast and a morning meeting, followed by the first volleyball session; lunch, then workshops or English lessons in the afternoon; and dinner followed by a second volleyball session before downtime and the evening programme.
Winchester College in Hampshire is one of England's oldest and most historic independent schools, combining centuries-old buildings with modern sports facilities. It lies about 71 miles (114 km) from central London; the nearest airports are London Heathrow (54 miles / 87 km) and London Gatwick (75 miles / 121 km).
This is a fully residential camp. Players live on site at Winchester College in mostly single bedrooms, and all meals are provided: three meals a day plus an evening snack. Outside training, players can unwind and make friends in the players' lounge.
Excursions are built into every camp:
London (every other week): a city tour taking in Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, a ride on the Thames and time for shopping.
Oxford (every other week): a tour of the historic university city.
Theme park (two-week camps only): a full day of rides and fairground games at a major UK theme park.
Evenings bring a varied activities programme, and players can relax and socialise in the players' lounge. Weekly awards ceremonies celebrate effort and achievement in front of peers and staff.
The 2027 Winchester camp runs for girls aged 13–17, with one-week and two-week options. Each one-week camp is 6 nights and each two-week camp is 13 nights; 2027 sessions run Monday to Sunday.

Up to 24 hours a week of volleyball coaching and games; up to 8 hours a week of workshops (Total Volleyball) or up to 13 hours a week of English lessons (Volleyball + English); on-site accommodation; three meals a day plus an evening snack; excursions; the evening activities programme; an exclusive Nike gift pack; an individual coaching review, certificate and take-home report; 24/7 welfare staff; on-site medical support; and travel insurance.
Not included: flights and airport transfers. An airport transfer service from London Heathrow or Gatwick, with staff meeting players on arrival day and accompanying them back on departure day, can be added after booking at an extra cost.
Welfare staff are on site 24 hours a day, with a staff-to-player ratio of 1:6 and on-site medical support throughout the camp. Safeguarding and child-welfare procedures are a central part of the programme, and travel insurance is included in the fee. Players are assessed on arrival and placed in groups matched to their age and ability, so everyone trains at the right level. Camps welcome young people from more than 100 nationalities, with around 30% native English speakers, creating a genuinely international but well-supervised environment.
This camp suits girls aged 13–17 who already play volleyball and want to sharpen their technique, tactical understanding and match confidence in a focused, supportive setting. It is a strong choice for developing and advanced players, and for international students who would like to combine sport with English lessons. Younger players (from 11) and complete beginners may prefer the all-abilities camp at Charterhouse School.
