This fully immersive 3-week residential summer programme is designed for students aged 16–18 who want to strengthen their academic skills and prepare for success in senior school and university.
Set in Scotland’s most historic university town, the programme combines:

Students gain essential tools for academic success while developing independence, confidence, and global awareness in a unique coastal setting.
Students live and study at St Salvator’s Halls of Residence, University of St Andrews, within a secure and self-contained residential environment.
Located just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre

Set on a quiet street with private gardens and coastal views
The programme hosts students from over 100 nationalities, with no more than 10% from any one country, creating a truly international and diverse environment.
This programme is designed for students with a minimum English level of B2 (Upper-Intermediate) or above, according to the CEFR framework.
Students at this level are expected to:
Engage with academic content delivered in English
Participate in discussions, group work, and presentations
Read and analyse academic materials
Communicate ideas clearly in spoken and written form
Students complete a British Council English Language Test before arrival to ensure appropriate class placement.
Students follow a balanced academic structure by selecting:
Study Skills (core subject)
One elective course
3 hours of classes each weekday morning

Edinburgh – Guided walking tour and free time
Glasgow – Visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery or the University of Glasgow, followed by city exploration
Glamis Castle
Paddleboarding and sea kayaking (strong swimmers required)
St Andrews town tour (cathedral, castle, coastal paths)
Wild Shores Aqua Park (strong swimmers required)
All trips are fully organised and supervised.
Students choose one elective, which takes place four afternoons per week, allowing them to develop new skills and interests.
Students of all levels work with professional coaches to:
Develop technical skills and match play ability
Improve fitness, coordination, and tactical awareness
Learn rules and sportsmanship
The programme concludes with a tennis tournament.
Students explore filmmaking through:
Scriptwriting, directing, and editing
Camera operation and production techniques
Working in teams to create short films
Students gain hands-on experience and showcase their work in a final screening.
Students:
Develop performance skills through workshops and masterclasses
Explore voice, movement, and improvisation
Create and perform a final theatrical production
Set in the home of golf, this elective offers:
Coaching from PGA-qualified instructors
Access to professional facilities (driving range, putting green, course play)
Opportunity for advanced players to play championship courses
Additional Golf Students who have a low handicap and wish to play some of St Andrews Links courses may opt to miss cultural trips in order to increase the time spent on the course. This will be at an additional cost to the student but will allow those who are good golfers to maximise their golfing experience in the home of golf and use the coaching offered to take full advantage of some of the worlds best championship courses.
All ability levels are supported.
Students explore a wide range of artistic techniques, including:
Drawing, painting, and illustration
Photography and contemporary practices
Students develop their creativity and showcase their work in a final exhibition.
