Course Description: MIT FutureBuilders Summer Program at Oxford Univeristy

This programme empowers ambitious students to turn emerging technologies into real-world solutions. Through AI, data science, IoT (smart devices that connect and communicate), and app development, participants learn to design, prototype, and pitch ventures using the MIT RAISE Innovation Leadership Toolkit.

The experience builds toward a dynamic Innovation Demo, where teams present their concepts to expert judges—transforming ideas into impact and students into future-ready innovators.

***

How Students Learn *

Teaching goes beyond traditional classroom instruction, offering a blend of lectures, seminars, case studies, and real-world projects. Students participate in small-group seminars and technical skills workshops, allowing for close interaction with tutors and personalised feedback.

Throughout the programme, students are introduced to coding labs in AI, IoT and app development that prepare them for advanced academic study and real-world application.

They will also have mentorship sessions from MIT RAISE experts 💡.

***

The AI Challenge & Opportunity *

Artificial intelligence is transforming the world faster than ever.

Up to 60% of employee tasks in advanced economies could be automated, and nearly 40% of jobs worldwide are exposed to AI’s influence. While this disruption presents real challenges, it also drives enormous opportunities. AI could add trillions to global GDP by 2030, creating new careers and demand for creativity, leadership, and technical fluency. The future belongs to those ready to innovate.

***

MIT RAISE FutureBuilders: Your Path to Innovation 💡

MIT RAISE (Responsible AI for Social Empowerment and Education) equips students with the skills, confidence, and ethical insight to thrive in an AI-driven world. Developed by MIT experts, the programme combines hands-on learning, innovation frameworks, and cross-cultural collaboration. * En Suite Reservations

For families who would like additional privacy and convenience, a limited number of en suite bedrooms (with a private bathroom) are available to reserve through payment of an En Suite Reservation Fee.

En suite availability is limited and subject to specific conditions, outlined below. We encourage families to read this section carefully before booking.

***

✅ Availability & Eligibility

  • En suite reservations are available to certain students only, depending on age and study location.

  • Availability is automatically checked during the application process.

  • If eligible, the En Suite Reservation Fee will appear as an optional Extra at checkout.

  • If the option does not appear, en suite rooms are not available for that student or campus.

***

* How to Add an En Suite Reservation

  • The En Suite Reservation Fee must be paid in full at the point of application.

  • If you wish to add an en suite after enrolment, please contact our team and we will advise if availability remains.

  • All cancellations and refunds follow the standard Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.

***

*️ Campus & Room Allocation

Students stay across a range of residential campuses, which include both historic and more modern buildings.

  • En suite bathrooms are more commonly found in modern buildings.

  • Older, traditional buildings were not designed with en suite facilities.

  • By reserving an en suite room, families acknowledge that the allocated bedroom may be located in a more modern campus rather than a traditional one.

***

* Allocation Process

  • Different courses are hosted at different campuses, each with a limited number of en suite rooms.

  • Once campus allocations are finalised (typically in the spring), availability is reviewed.

  • If demand exceeds supply, en suite rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

👉 If an en suite room cannot be allocated:

  • The student will be assigned a standard bedroom

  • The En Suite Reservation Fee will be fully refunded

👉 If en suite rooms remain available beyond demand:

  • No refund is due to students who have paid the fee

***

*️ Room Types

  • Most en suite bedrooms are single occupancy

  • Some en suite rooms are twin occupancy

  • Reserving an en suite does not guarantee a single room, although this is often the case

✨ Please note: En suite rooms are limited and highly sought after. We recommend reserving early where available to maximise the chance of allocation.

If you have any questions or would like to add an en suite reservation after booking, our team will be happy to help.
