The Law & Global Justice Summer Programme is an academically rigorous, university-led experience designed for students interested in law, ethics, human rights, and international justice. Delivered on UCL’s historic Bloomsbury Campus, the programme introduces students to core areas of legal study through case-based learning, debates, mock trials, and applied legal analysis, all taught by experienced university lecturers and legal professionals.
Students live and study in a true university environment while gaining insight into how law operates across societies, institutions, and global systems.

Teaching takes place in UCL academic buildings at the Bloomsbury Campus, located in the heart of central London. Student accommodation is provided at Garden Halls, a modern UCL residence approximately 10 minutes’ walk from classrooms.
This Zone 1 London location places students within walking distance of legal institutions, museums, courts, and historic landmarks—ideal for a law-focused academic experience. Class Size: 12 students per class

Morning (09:00–12:00)
Students attend faculty-specific academic classes delivered by university lecturers. Sessions include lectures, seminars, case study analysis, legal debates, and structured discussions.

Students dine together at the UCL refectory, encouraging peer discussion and community building.

Afternoons focus on experiential and enrichment learning, which may include:

Brighton Coastal Excursion
Full-day visit to Brighton, including Brighton Pier and The Lanes
All excursions are fully supervised, with organised transport and on-site pastoral staff.

This programme provides a comprehensive introduction to law, global justice, and ethical decision-making, exploring how legal systems operate at national and international levels. Students engage with topics such as criminal justice, human rights, environmental law, and emerging legal challenges, developing strong analytical, advocacy, and critical-thinking skills.
Learning is delivered through interactive lectures, debates, mock trials, and real-world case studies, offering a strong foundation for university-level law and related disciplines.

This module introduces students to legal systems around the world, including common law, civil law, and international legal frameworks. Students examine how courts function, the roles of judges and lawyers, and how laws are created, interpreted, and enforced. Case studies help illustrate the rule of law and access to justice.

Students explore the global human rights framework, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, humanitarian law, and international treaties. Through debates and case analysis, students examine contemporary human rights challenges and the mechanisms used to protect and enforce rights internationally.

Mock Court Case – Royal Courts of Justice
Students participate in a mock court case within one of the UK’s most iconic legal institutions, assuming roles such as barristers, solicitors, and witnesses while learning courtroom procedure.
Lincoln’s Inn Visit & Barrister Meeting
Students visit one of London’s historic Inns of Court and meet with a practicing barrister to learn about advocacy, career pathways, and life in the legal profession.

It was more than satisfactory. The program and the lectures were very rich. Everything was great (although there were only a few participants; perhaps it would be better if there were more).
