Course Description: Prestigious English Summer Camp for Teenagers at Pepperdine University Campus in Malibu

Stunning location overlooking the Pacific Ocean

Our Malibu Residential Summer Center is situated on the campus of Pepperdine University and offers an ideal, safe environment for young international students. It enjoys a beautiful Californian location at the foot of the Santa Monica Mountains with a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean. The famous beaches of Los Angeles are a short drive away, while LA’s “must see” areas including Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica are easily accessible.

Course offered Summer Course

This course is specially designed for juniors and teenagers who are looking for an on-campus stay by the beach. Offering fantastic on-site facilities and tennis courts, the 15 hours of English tuition each week is complemented by a full program of on-campus activities and exciting excursions to iconic destinations in and around LA.

  • On-campus residential accommodation in twin rooms with shared bathrooms.

  • Separate areas for boys and girls

Meal Plan:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided every day.

  • Lunch and dinner are usually hot; on excursion days students are given a packed lunch. Some dinners will be off-site, depending on the programme.

Special dietary requirements

  • Vegetarian always available. Others available on request.

  • On-campus residential accommodation in comfortable twin rooms with modern shared bathrooms and common areas on each floor.

  • Separate areas for boys and girls

  • 2 beds per room (with very few triples)

  • Student:bathroom ratio 4:1

  • Students are issued bedroom keys on their arrival. A charge will be made for any lost keys, up to $50.

  • Students advised to use suitcase locks for valuables; we are not responsible for items in bedrooms.

  • School bank available for safe money storage.

  • Nighttime supervision by staff in each house, assistance with problems, and support for homesickness.

  • Towel provided on arrival; weekly bedlinen change upon request and bed stripping.

  • On-site personal laundry service available, costing approximately $2 per wash.

  • Efforts made to accommodate sharing preferences; policy to mix nationalities in accommodation.

  • Classrooms and dining facilities within 5-10 minutes' walking distance on a large, hilly site.

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided every day (Lunch and dinner are usually hot)

  • On excursion days students are given a packed lunch.

  • Some dinners will be off-site, depending on the program.

  • Mandatory room vacation on departure day between 9.00 – 10.00am as per management instructions.

  • Students will be greeted at the airport by a guide or representative.

  • Guide may arrive up to 45 minutes after the flight's arrival time.

  • If the guide is not found, students should show their Transfer Confirmation Letter at the Airport Information Desk.

  • In case of not finding the guide, remain calm and inside the terminal; our experienced team will assist.

  • For flight delays or travel emergencies, call +1 310 919 5955 (TBC).

  • Students advised to carry: Passport (Visa if needed), Letter of Consent to Travel, Booking confirmation letter, Transfer confirmation letter.

  • If traveling with a parent/guardian, inform us of arrival/departure times in advance.

  • A document will be provided for completion before arrival; unaccompanied travel to/from campus is not allowed.

  • Child assessed upon arrival for placement in an appropriate class according to age and English level.

  • Six learning levels available, from Beginner to Advanced.

  • 15 hours of English classes each week, learning thoughfun teaching methods including projects, games, and group work to boost confidence, collaboration, and communication.

  • Between 9.00 - 12.30 or 14.00 - 17.30

  • Teaching days: Thursday, Saturday & Monday OR Thursday, Friday & Sunday (two possible shifts)

  • A full program of organised activities, with a choice of 2 – 3 activities per session.

  • Minimum of two full-day excursions per week, including one entrance fee.

The syllabus includes:

  • Language input and language practice

  • UK or US culture lessons

  • Excursion preparation/ follow-up lessons

  • Online safety classes

  • Project lessons

  • There is also a weekly review of materials studied.

  • Residential refundable deposit (payable upon arrival): $100

  • LAX Airport Transfer (One Way): $245

  • Student Insurance(Weekly) at time of booking: $65 (automatically added to each booking unless proof of own insurance is shown)

  • Courier Service: $125

  • Unaccompanied minor supplement(departure only): $275

  • Pocket Money Advice: $75 per week pocket money is recommended for treats and gifts. This is a suggested amount, every student is different.
