Students will:
Collaborate with fellow Computer Science students and Business students to develop an idea for a mobile phone app
Build a prototype (Computer Science students) while Business students conduct market research and create a brand and business plan
Pitch their project to an expert judging panel

Beyond daily classes, students participate in an intensive four-hour academic Challenge.
During the Start-up Challenge, students collaborate with Business students to build a fully functioning website based on a shared business vision.
They use their coding skills to bring an idea to life, develop problem-solving strategies and present their finished product to a panel of expert judges. This provides hands-on experience of working on a real start-up-style project.

Daniel was awarded a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. He currently works as a software developer and STEM tutor.
He began programming in MATLAB and later worked as a software engineer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he developed large-scale C++ applications and natural language processing systems.
Outside of his professional work, Daniel represents the UK in mental calculation and memory competitions.

The Academy provides a carefully balanced schedule designed to mirror the life of an Oxford computer science student. Below is a detailed breakdown of the two-week experience.
08:00 – 09:00: Breakfast ☕ Students start the day with a continental breakfast in their college, catching up with friends before the academic day begins.
09:00 – 10:00: Prep Hour �* Dedicated time for independent study. Students use this hour to debug code, research tech trends, or prepare for the morning’s debate on the ethics of AI.
10:00 – 12:00: Computer Science Seminar 👨�* The core academic experience. Topics range from the logic of Python and web development to cybersecurity fundamentals and data science.
12:00 – 14:00: Lunch and City Exploration �* Students have free time to explore Oxford’s local cafés and markets, developing independence and navigating the city like a local student.
14:00 – 16:00: The App Challenge or Coding Workshops 🛠️ The "Do" part of the day. Students work in teams to prototype an app, solve logical puzzles, and prepare a technical presentation for a judging panel.
16:00 – 18:30: Afternoon Socials & Free Time �* Organised activities such as punting on the River Cherwell, guided walking tours of historic colleges, or sports in the University Parks.
18:30 – 20:00: Group Dinner 🍽️ A formal or casual group dinner at a local Oxford restaurant or within the college hall.
20:00 – 22:00: Evening Entertainment �* High-energy social events including the "Oxford’s Got Talent" show, themed quiz nights, or film screenings.
22:30: In-Room Curfew �* Ensuring students are well-rested for the following day’s challenges.
Saturday Excursions: Full-day trips to iconic locations such as Windsor Castle or Blenheim Palace.
Sunday Exploration: A relaxed morning followed by a trip to a cultural hub like a museums.

St George’s Gate, part of Oxford University’s St Peter’s College, sits beside Quaking Bridge and overlooks the remains of Oxford’s original medieval wall.
Adjacent to the historic Oxford Castle, the building features an entrance courtyard and picturesque views of the Castle Mill Stream, a branch of the River Thames.
Along with accommodation at St Thomas’ and Paradise Street, St George’s Gate is one of St Peter’s College’s annexe accommodations and is home to second- and third-year undergraduates during term time.

The Lampl Building is an annexe of Corpus Christi College, one of Oxford’s oldest colleges, founded in 1517. One of its earliest members contributed to the translation of the King James Bible in 1611.
Located near the historic Oxford Castle — which played a role in the English Civil War and later served as the city’s prison until 1996 — the building now sits close to what has been transformed into a stylish hotel. During term time, Lampl houses second- and third-year Oxford undergraduates.
