🌸 Biarritz French + Surf Spring Program

Spring Language Learning & Surf Culture on the Basque Coast

Spend spring in Biarritz, France, combining high-quality French language learning with professional surf coaching on the Atlantic coast. This spring programme is ideal for teenagers who want to improve their French in a real-world setting while enjoying outdoor activities, cultural discovery, and a safe host-family stay in the heart of the city.

Designed for students aged 15–17, the programme offers a balanced weekly schedule of French lessons, surfing, and cultural experiences, taking advantage of Biarritz’s mild spring climate and vibrant Basque lifestyle.

🏄 Surf Coaching

Surfing is a core part of the spring experience in Biarritz.

4 surf sessions per week

Paddling and take-off timing
Balance and stance
Reading waves and ocean conditions
Safe entry, exit, and surf etiquette
Sessions are scheduled around tides and conditions, with flexibility built into the timetable

🎭 Cultural Activities & Excursions

Students experience the culture of the Basque region while practising French outside the classroom.

Each week includes:

2 cultural or social activities, such as:
Basque pelota initiation
Visit to the Cité de l’Océan
Local city walks and social outings
1 half-day excursion
1 full-day excursion, exploring destinations such as Bayonne, coastal viewpoints, and regional heritage sites

Activities are designed to encourage real-life language use in a relaxed, enjoyable setting.

🚐 Transfers & Local Transportation

Arrival and departure transfers are included, with host families providing transport to and from Biarritz Airport or Biarritz Train Station, ensuring a smooth and well-supported start and end to each student’s stay.
For daily travel, students typically use local public transportation to move between host family homes, classrooms, and activity locations.
This approach encourages independence, confidence, and group bonding, while remaining fully supervised.
Public transport tickets are not included, but activity leaders assist students with purchasing the correct passes on the first day to ensure everyone is confident and prepared.

At the end of the programme, students receive an official attendance certificate, confirming:
