Think like a software architect. In two weeks, learners master the core principles of microservices using Python + Django, building small, independent REST services that communicate cleanly and store data reliably—guided live by a mentor, step by step.
Format Live online (mentor-led)
Duration 2 weeks (Module 1)
Stack Python, Django, REST APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, basic auth, Postman testing
Projects Weekly mini-projects + end-of-module multi-service demo
Outcomes Certificate, personalised mentor feedback, star rating, eligibility for Level 2 – Python Microservice Creator
Microservices basics: modular architecture, benefits vs. monoliths, clear service boundaries
Python & Django: models, views, serializers, REST endpoints
Service integration: REST-based communication between independent services
Databases: connect to MySQL/PostgreSQL; create, read, update, delete (CRUD) data
Testing & debugging: test endpoints with Postman; verify payloads and responses
Collaboration & discovery: foundational ideas for finding/integrating services
Deployment (intro): run and verify services in a local environment
Week 1 — Building Your First Python Service
Intro to microservices and architecture concepts
Django fundamentals and REST API creation
Standalone microservice connected to a database
Mini-projects:
Simple User Service — registration & login endpoints
Data Tracker — store/retrieve records via Django models (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
API Tester — validate endpoints using Postman, inspect live responses
Mentor support: live coding, instant feedback, explain “why” behind patterns.
Week 2 — Connecting & Expanding Services
Interaction patterns among multiple services
REST calls between services; error handling; simple authentication
Intro dashboard to surface service data
Mini-projects:
Inventory Service — product CRUD + validation
Order Service — call Inventory via REST for availability checks
Service Dashboard — basic status/metrics view across services
Mentor support: integration guidance, debugging across services, test strategy.
Present a small Python microservice system: explain API logic, data flow between services, database connections, and testing approach.
Certificate of Completion: Python Microservice Explorer (Module 1)
Personalised Mentor Feedback Report
Star rating & eligibility for Level 2 — Python Microservice Creator
1:1 mentor guidance for every project
Daily progress check-ins and challenge reviews
Hands-on exercises with real-time support
Encouragement to build independent thinking and coding confidence
Platform & access link • Live session times & time zone • Class size & participation norms • Tech requirements (Python 3.x, Django, DB setup, Postman; stable internet, webcam/mic) • Accessibility (captions/recordings) • Safeguarding/code of conduct • Refund/cancellation policy
