Mobile App Creation with Thunkable (2-Week Mentor-Led Module)

Students dive into mobile app innovation using Thunkable, a drag-and-drop platform for building real Android and iOS apps. Across two weeks, learners build multiple projects while developing logical thinking, problem-solving, and UI design skills. Every session ends with a working mini-app they can show off to family and friends.

Week 1 – “Design, Click & Create!”

• Get familiar with the Thunkable interface and project workflow

• Design screens via drag-and-drop UI

• Explore event blocks, button actions, and text inputs

Mini Projects:

1. Color Tap Fun! Change backgrounds on tap and trigger sounds

2. Pocket Calculator Fully functional calculator app

3. Emoji Click Game Tap emojis to score points before time runs out

Mentor Support: Live coding demos, visual logic explanations, hands-on debugging, and personalization (sounds, colors, animations).

Week 2 – “Smart Apps, Smarter You!”

• Deepen logic and data handling skills

• Save user input and display results

• Integrate device sensors and interactive features

Mini Projects:

1. Quiz Challenge App Multiple-choice quiz with scoring

2. Weather Info App Fetch and display weather via Web API (mentor-assisted integration)

3. Voice Notepad Record voice and save notes—your mini personal assistant
