Course Description: PictoBlox 3D & XR Creators Online Bootcamp for Kids

3D & Augmented Reality Coding with PictoBlox (2-Week Mentor-Led Module)

Program Snapshot

Invite your child into the future of coding—where imagination meets 3D worlds and Augmented Reality (AR). Using PictoBlox’s drag-and-drop blocks, learners design and control 3D models, animations, and AR scenes that blend the digital and real worlds. Over two weeks, students build logic, creativity, and “futuristic thinking” through hands-on projects.

  • Duration: 2 weeks (mentor-led)

  • Format: Live, guided, project-based sessions

  • Deliverables: Multiple interactive 3D and AR projects by the end of the module

What Students Will Learn

  • 3D Coding Basics: Create, move, rotate, and animate 3D shapes and characters

  • XR Environment Setup: Explore virtual and augmented reality modes within PictoBlox

  • Logic & Events: Use event blocks to make objects respond to inputs and triggers

  • Creative Coding: Design colorful scenes; add sounds, timing, and visual flair

  • Physics & Animation: Simulate motion, gravity, and realistic object behavior

Week-by-Week Learning Plan

Week 1 – “Welcome to the 3D World!”

Get comfortable in the 3D coding workspace—design shapes, adjust camera angles, add lighting, and animate objects.

Mini Projects

  1. Spinning Cube Show! A vibrant cube spinning in 3D space
  • Skills: Loops, rotation, animation control
  1. Bouncing Ball Fun! A ball that falls and bounces with gravity
  • Skills: Variables, motion, physics simulation
  1. 3D Emoji Dance A 3D emoji that bounces and spins to music
  • Skills: Sound, timing, creative movement

Mentor Support: Side-by-side guidance, concept demos, and structured checkpoints to ensure understanding and fun.

Week 2 – “Step into XR (Extended Reality)!”

Unlock AR mode to bring digital creations into the real world. Control 3D objects with sensors, gestures, and camera overlays.

Mini Projects

  1. AR Spinning Globe View a 3D globe in the camera and rotate it with device movements
  • Skills: Sensors, orientation blocks, AR object placement
  1. 3D Car Drive Simulation Drive a car along a virtual road with arrow keys or tilt
  • Skills: Keyboard events, smooth motion, scene setup
  1. Catch the Ball (XR Game) Move the device to catch falling balls in AR
  • Skills: Object detection, scoring, interaction logic

Mentor Support: Debugging help, creativity prompts, and personalization (colors, sounds, effects) for each project.

Showcase & Outcomes

  • Project Showcase: Students present a favorite 3D or AR project to family and peers—explaining design choices, logic, and testing.
