Professionals in the field will help you master the skills needed for writing college essays, resumes and give you further insight into what it takes to become a writer! You will also have the opportunity to reside on the Yale University campus, giving you a taste of the college student experience.

Location
Founded in 1701, Yale is the third oldest institution of higher education in the
United States. Named in Forbes Magazine as one of the ‘World's Most Beautiful College Campuses', Summer Springboard Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in academically enthralling subjects while experiencing life on this architecturally stunning and historically famed campus.
What's Included
Residential Students:
-Includes: all meals, lodging, excursions, academic course, weekend excursions Excludes: optional airport pickup and drop off service (available for an additional fee)
Commuter Students:
-Includes: lunch, academic course, excursions, programming from 9am to 5pm, Monday-Friday Excludes: lodging, breakfast, dinner, weekend excursions
Extended Commuter Students:
-Includes: lunch, dinner, excursions, academic course, programming from 9am to 8pm, weekend excursions
-Excludes: lodging, breakfast
Activities
Top: Since we are based in the heart of New England with access to the premier facilities offered by Yale University, this program will combine time in the classroom with visits around the New Haven area. Students will have the chance to experience interesting tourist and academic-related locations to help broaden their experience and expose them to one of the most exciting areas of the East Coast. Additionally, we’ll enjoy the fun attractions in the vicinity. All excursions are fully supervised by Summer Springboard staff. Students have a unique opportunity to visit the iconic home of one of America’s greatest writers, Mark Twain. In addition, students will visit various local colleges and universities, having the chance to meet with and gain valuable insight from admissions counselors.
Excursions

Transportation
Summer Springboard provides an airport shuttle service for $95 each way.
Students who arrive during the flight window
will be met by a SSB staff member.

General Departure Info: On the last day of the program, students (who pay for the departure transfer - supplemental fee of $95) will be dropped at the airport at 10:00am, for flights departing from 12:00 and beyond. We cannot provide drop off service for flights earlier than 12pm.
Lesson Plan
Writing for College = Writing for Life. The course stresses the fundamentals of writing, prepares students for college applications as students create their own resumes and master their college essays. Students will also be introduced to specific AP and college-level writing techniques – skills that are not only useful in their high school days, but in college and beyond.
