Age Range - 13-15 yrs
Immerse Education is an award-winning academic summer school that offers programs for students aged 13 to 15 in prestigious academic institutions. The goal of this program is to give academically rigorous content that expands participants' knowledge and love for their chosen field. The program also provides young varied and essential views into what it would be like to study at university through 40 hours of academic sessions over the two week.
Individual work, referred to as the "Personal Project" in this curriculum, is required. This is usually an essay or a presentation given on the last day of the program. Participants will get comments on their work, which may be included the final assessment of the participant.
Creative writing is a topic that combines creativity with attention to detail, novel ways of expression, and a rich history of previous examples from which to draw inspiration. Not just in the literary realm, but also in a wide range of commercial and business situations, the ability to generate interesting and innovative material is highly valued. The Immerse Education Creative Writing program's goal is to expose participants to the fundamentals of the topic and to emphasize the options open to those who want to continue creative writing in the future. Participants will gain experience in a number of practical skills as they examine their own and their peers' work.
The Academic Insights summer course's social program is a highlight, allowing participants to establish friends with like-minded peers from all around the world.
Two trips, on-site games, sports, and other activities are included in the social program, as well as three formal lunches at various Oxbridge Colleges.
Food and Accommodation
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is included. These meals are served in one of the college's historic halls. Most medical and religious dietary restrictions can be met by the on-site catering staff. Please let us know if you have any dietary or medical restrictions well ahead of time so that we can make sure that all necessary staff members are informed.
All rooms are single occupancy with shared bathrooms, with one bathroom per four attendees on average. There are some ensuite facilities provided, with preference given to those with special requirements.
Participants are separated by gender in different hallways where restroom facilities are shared. Corridors may be mixed gender if ensuite facilities are available.
Participants traveling from London Heathrow Airport and returning at the end of the program can take advantage of a shared airport transportation service. Immerse Education offers a chaperoned service for an extra charge, which may be requested after enrolling.
