Book NowWe'll step off-campus to explore what the lively city of Los Angeles has to offer! Home to some of the most iconic landmarks, tourist attractions, museums, and beaches, L.A. has no shortage of fun. Below are just some examples of what our students will get to see and explore:
At UCLA, students share a traditional dorm room with another person - in some cases two people, although not common. Students are housed by gender, and genders are separated by floor. Each floor shares a communal bathroom, but there are private shower and toilet stalls in the bathrooms. Dorm rooms contain a Twin XL sized bed, desks, drawers, mirror, and a closet. Basic linens are provided in the form of a fitted sheet, flat sheet, towel, and pillowcase.
Summer Springboard staff, in the form of Resident Advisors (RAs), live on each floor to create a community, provide support, plan activities, and help students get the most out of their stay at UCLA. Other members of the Summer Springboard staff also live on campus and are available to support students and address emergencies, 24 hours a day.
Meals
Most meals will be in the on-campus dining hall. The dining hall offers a wide selection of food, accommodating a variety of diets - including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, and specific food allergies. In the past, we've eaten in the De Neve dining hall, and you can reference their daily menu here to get a sense of what to expect.
Pocket Money
You may want to think about bringing some extra cash with you to Summer Springboard. We will be touring the local area and eating a few meals (maybe lunch, dinner on the weekends out). While you tuition covers the cost of the excursion, it will not cover any souvenirs you may want to pick up for family and friends. We suggest an extra $100.

Home to the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Emmys award ceremonies, Los Angeles has long been recognized as the film and movie capital of the world. What better environment to complement your passion for filmmaking. Summer Springboard’s Filmmaking course on the campus of UCLA focuses on the fundamental elements of visual storytelling that enables students to direct their own projects. Whether you have little-to-no experience or considering yourself a professional, discover the foundational tools and skill sets to prepare yourself to be the next Steven Spielberg in the making. The first week will focus on technical coursework on each element of the filmmaking process. Each day will be about a new topic of filmmaking and will be designed for students to gain new skills to use in their final projects the following week. The second week will be all about creating the final project videos. Students will break into small teams that will write, shoot, and edit their own short films. The students will take on different roles throughout production of these final projects; from directing, to acting, to editing, and more.
Wonderful! Good News! You are not going to pay the full fee today, just a small deposit. After paying today, you will first get an enrollment form, and then receive a booking confirmation.
