Shrewsbury was founded in 1552 and is a well-known traditional independent school. Former prominent alumni include scientist Charles Darwin and actor/comedian Michael Palin. It is located across the Severn River from Shrewsbury, a bustling market town. By car, Manchester and Birmingham airports are 1.5 hours away; London Heathrow is 3-4 hours away.
Shrewsbury's academic program consists of 21 hours of courses each week. English Skills, Global Minds workshops, and mentorship are among the topics covered. The maximum number of students in each class is 12.
You'll be given a written and spoken exam when you arrive, and you'll be put in an English Skills class that's appropriate for your age and level. Through interesting and interactive lessons, you will improve fundamental skills, technical precision, and spoken fluency. Juniors research and create some of the world's most bizarre homes. Teens will investigate and compare which nations are officially the happiest in the world, as well as why they are the happiest.
Workshops in English
You'll learn about new topics in these engaging, task-based lessons. Learn through conducting research, debating, collaborating, and creating. The themes of the workshops change from week to week, for example. Book design, drama, Darwin's Discovery, engineering, journalism, video blogs, and visual poetry are just a few of the subjects covered in this course. Students select a Workshop that interests them when they arrive.

Numerous football pitches,, tennis, squash, and fives courts, an indoor sports hall, and a 25m 6-lane swimming pool are among the school's remarkable athletic facilities.
The program includes one full day and one half-day trip every week. Birmingham (Art Gallery, Canal Walk, Bullring Shopping), Chester Zoo, Drayton Manor Theme Park, and Liverpool have all been visited previously. Weekly house nights provide you the opportunity to socialize with new people or participate in conversation clubs.
