Shrewsbury's academic program consists of 21 hours of courses each week. English Skills, Global Minds workshops, and mentorship are among the topics covered. The maximum number of students in each class is 12.
Shrewsbury is well-known as a traditional independent school. It was founded in 1552 and has Charles Darwin amongst its famous 'old boys'. It is situated across the River Severn from the lively market town of Shrewsbury. Manchester and Birmingham airports are approximately 1.5 hours by road; London Heathrow 3-4 hours.
It has an impressive campus with both traditional and modern buildings. The school's impressive sporting facilities include sports pitches, an astroturf, tennis, squash and fives courts, an indoor sports hall and a 25m 6-lane swimming pool. There are large IT suites, an art studio and a theatre.

Meals
We provide 3 meals a day, plus evening snack. Meals are taken in the attractive dining room. Menus are chosen to appeal to international students.
Specific dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice.
Pocket Money
We recommend **£60 per week **to cover personal expenses (phone/SIM cards, postcards, stamps, souvenirs, soft drinks, ice creams etc)
Airport transfers on published arrival/depart ure days for flights scheduled to arrive/depart between 09.00-16.00 from/to: Heathrow, Manchester or Birmingham airports
We offer a professional and friendly 'Meet and Greet' service.
Airport transfers by coach or taxi are included in the fees on published arrival and departure dates for flights scheduled to arrive/depart between 09.00 and 16.00 hours from/to specific airports (see below).
Once you have collected your luggage you will come out of the Customs Hall and see one of our airport representatives, holding the school sign with your name. Coaches/taxis leave at regular intervals to take you to your centre. On departure, we check you onto your flight and see you through to departures.
**In exceptional circumstances, in order to place students at their correct level, maximum class size may be exceeeded
On arrival, you'll be given a written and oral test and placed into an English Skills class appropriate for your age and level Improve core skills, technical accuracy and enhance spoken fluency through engaging and collaborative sessions e.g. Life in a British School - research famous British Schools and design your own!
In these fun, task based sessions, you'll explore new topic areas. Learn through researching, discussing, collaborating and creating Workshop topics vary week to week e.g. Book Design, Drama, Discovering Darwin, Engineering, Journalism, Video Blogs, Visual Poetry! Choose a Workshop (on arrival) that interests you!

Takes you out of the classroom and teaches you new skills in English e.g. explore British history in Shrewsbury town, interview local residents
