Taught by expert academics, practising professionals and inspirational educators from the University of Cambridge, the 2-week Summer Research programme is stimulating, challenging and unique, exposing students to the latest innovation and research in various subjects. We provide small group supervisions after the research lectures to answer the students’ questions and discuss their own ideas related to the lecture content to help them better comprehend new knowledge. They will be required to deliver a final presentation on their interested topics at the CCISTC Summer Academic Conference by the end of the programme . Students will also be living in a prestigious college at central Cambridge and enjoy what is like to study and live as a Cambridge student here. In addition, students have the opportunity to join a variety of cultural activities, a subject-relevant organisation and company visit, and CCISTC TedTalk to bring their learning into life.
Cambridge Colleges will form key communities for your study here, offering a range of academic support, accommodation, and facilities for study and leisure. You will be welcomed into an inclusive, interdisciplinary, supportive, and social community. Your college will be centrally located, with instant access to the shops and cafes of the city centre, as well as natural sceneries such as gardens, parks, and plenty of green spaces. You will also be free to enjoy the beautiful river Cam and some of the most astonishing Gothic style architecture. Your Cambridge college life will involve but is not limited to accommodation, dining, socialising, formal dinner, etc.

College tours The University of Cambridge is a collegiate university, with its main functions divided between the central departments of the university and 31 colleges. The departments perform research and provide centralised lectures to students, while the colleges are responsible for the domestic arrangements and student welfare. Punting Experience the ancient and beautiful university on a small boat along the lovely River Cam. On the clear and quiet river, the small boat sails leisurely along the strewn colleges that are magnificent, graceful, exquisite or elegant and narrate beautiful stories. Numerous legends were born here. Salsa dancing Salsa is a partnered dance where the lead takes the follow through a series of spins and turn patterns to music. Join in the social dancing with the Cambridge students, experiencing the beautiful encounter of the prince and princess in the fairy tale world, feeling the authentic Latin flavour and making warm and cheerful Cambridge friends. Grantchester afternoon tea One of Cambridge students’ favourite leisure activities is to have afternoon tea at the Grantchester Orchard. The place is separate and serene, quiet and comfortable. It is the land of idyllic beauty that repeatedly retained the philosopher Russell, novelist Forster and painter Augustus, etc. Film Night Students will be treated to a exciting evening at Cambridge dormitory with classic film night. Snacks will be provided. Golf experience The modern golf originated in the UK, and now has become more and more popular worldwide. During the course, students will be instructed by an experienced coach at the local golf driving range. **Fitzwilliam Museum ** The Fitzwilliam Museum is the art and antiquities museum of the University of Cambridge. It was described by the Standing Commission on Museums & Galleries in 1968 as "one of the greatest art collections of the nation and a monument of the first importance". Traditional Formal Dinner The formal dinner is a traditional social activity and very popular part of College life at the University of Cambridge. On both sides of the ancient traditional long table, students wear formal evening dresses, listen to the academician’s prayer in Latin and enjoy authentic traditional British food. 'Downton Abbey' - Wimpole Estate With its stunning mansion, grandiose country walks, working farm with historic breeds, and adventure playground, the vast estate of Wimpole is the perfect destination for a fun day trip. Castle Hill Sunset Castle Hill is a knoll located in Cambridge. Nowadays this spot offers expansive views over the rooftops of the town and surrounding countryside. Cambridgeshire County Council's former headquarters, Shire Hall, are located directly adjacent to Castle Hill. So it is the perfect spot to watch the sun setting over the city.
All delegates are accommodated in different buildings of colleges of the University of Cambridge. Delegates usually stay in single/twin rooms with shared, unisex bathroom facilities. En-suite single rooms are also available at an additional charge. Dormitory rooms come in different size, shape and style. Breakfasts are all included.
Meals Eating together is an integral part of life here in colleges and provides the perfect opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new acquaintances. Catering team in colleges provide high quality and authentic British and International meals served in their magnificent dining hall for their students every day.
London Trip Students will have the chance to explore London. Some of the exciting highlights are the British Museum, The National Gallery, London's West End Musical, London Eye & Thame River Cruise etc. British Museum The British Museum’s remarkable collection spans over two million years of human history and culture. Over 6 million visitors every year experience the collection, including world-famous objects such as the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon sculptures, and Egyptian mummies. The National Gallery The National Gallery Collection contains over 2,300 works, including many famous works such as Velázquez’s 'Rokeby Venus' and Van Gogh’s 'Sunflowers'. All major traditions of Western European painting are represented from the artists of late medieval and Renaissance Italy to the French Impressionists. London's West End Musical Most London musicals are traditionally located in the main theatre district, more commonly known as Theatreland. The West End area – home to some of the most famous theatre streets in the world – plays host to musicals which are attended by millions of visitors from all over the world each year. Thames River Students can see more of the city’s landmarks in less time — and enjoy a memorable way to travel — on a Thames river cruise. You can pick from numerous daily departure times, and head to the London Eye Pier near the famous London Eye, where you’ll hop aboard your vessel. Oxford Trip The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university in Oxford, England. There is evidence of teaching as early as 1096, making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's second-oldest university in continuous operation. Oxford is ranked among the most prestigious universities in the world. Organisation / Company Visit We organise unique subject-relevant / interdisciplinary industry visits to stimulate students’ academic/career interests. The organisations may include sites like The Supreme Court, Royal Court of Justice, Cambridge Science Park, BP Institute, renown law firms, Professors' labs and offices at Cambridge, just to name a few.
