Embark on a transformative journey into the world of medical research with the Summer Institute x Polygence Medical Research Program at UC Berkeley. Tailored for high school students, this hybrid program provides the essential research skills and expert mentorship needed to develop and execute a unique research project throughout the upcoming school year.

At the prestigious UC Berkeley campus, participants will immerse themselves in a two-week intensive experience. Here, students will explore cutting-edge medical techniques and methodologies through a hands-on learning approach. This immersive coursework is enriched with interactive lectures from renowned experts and visits to state-of-the-art research facilities. By the end of the on-campus session, students will craft a research project proposal, ready for review on the final day.

Following the in-person program, students transition to a virtual cohort, where they are paired 1:1 with a research mentor in their field of interest. Over ten virtual sessions, students will advance their projects at their own pace, with opportunities to submit their final research papers for publication, present at symposiums, or even create podcasts. Mentorship start dates are flexible, with options in August, September, or October 15th.

This program, in collaboration with Polygence, the premier online research academy, offers motivated students dedicated mentorship from expert academics and practitioners. Tuition encompasses the comprehensive on-campus Summer Institute experience and Polygence’s Core Research Program.

The B-2 visa is for tourism and short-term study (under 16–18 hours of classes per week).
